Terms of Service
Last updated: October 28, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Docket ADR website and software service (the "Service"). By creating an account, subscribing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of a firm or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it.
1. The Service
Docket ADR provides an online workspace for arbitrators and their assistants to organize cases, documents, decision drafts, tasks, deadlines, and comments. Docket ADR is a software tool only. We do not provide legal advice, act as an arbitrator, or take part in any proceeding, and we are not responsible for the content of any decision or filing you prepare.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. A subscribing arbitrator may invite an assistant to collaborate; the arbitrator is responsible for who they invite and for that person's use of the Service. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
3. Subscription, Billing, and Cancellation
- The Docket ADR Practitioner plan costs $299 per month or $2,890 per year (USD), plus any applicable taxes, and includes full portal access for one neutral (arbitrator or mediator) and one assistant. Existing subscriptions keep their current rate unless a pricing change is separately communicated.
- New subscribers receive one 30-day free trial of the Practitioner base plan. A credit card is required at checkout. The trial starts when checkout is completed; your card is charged $299/month or $2,890/year, according to your selected billing option, plus applicable taxes after the trial unless you cancel before it ends. If you cancel during the trial, access continues until the trial ends. Returning subscribers do not receive another trial. Personal complimentary offers retain their own terms. Additional paid collaborator seats are not included in the free trial.
- Each additional collaborator beyond the one included is priced at $29 per month (USD), plus any applicable taxes. Additional-seat charges are added to your subscription automatically when you invite that person and are prorated for the remainder of your billing period. If a collaborator is removed, the unused portion is credited against your next bill.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month or year according to your selected billing option and are charged to your payment method on file until cancelled. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your full card number.
- You may cancel at any time from the billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid billing period, and you keep access until then.
- Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable and partial base-plan billing periods are not prorated.
- We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice; changes apply from your next billing period.
- If a payment fails, access may be suspended until the balance is paid.
4. Your Content and Confidentiality
You retain all rights to the documents, notes, and other materials you upload or create ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to host, store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate the Service for you. We do not sell Your Content, and we access it only as needed to provide support, maintain security, or comply with law. You are responsible for having the right to upload Your Content and for complying with any confidentiality obligations, protective orders, or rules that apply to your proceedings.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: use the Service unlawfully; upload malware; attempt to access other users' cases or data; interfere with or overload the Service; reverse engineer it except as permitted by law; or resell access without our written permission.
6. Availability and Backups
We work to keep the Service available and secure, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. You should keep your own copies of important documents, for example by using the export features.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or fail to pay. After your account ends, we may delete Your Content after a reasonable period; you may request an export before then.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Docket ADR will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
10. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify Docket ADR against claims arising from Your Content or your violation of these Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Michigan.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the date above; for material changes, we will give notice by email or in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
